If you’ve been following our social media channels, you may have noticed that we officially unveiled our list of the 2019 Reno Pop Culture Con (RPCC) Partner Hotels today. Many of you have been asking for the list, so we’re super excited to be able to share it with you!

Are you new to the con and not sure what a partner hotel is or why it matters? Not to worry. In this post we explain what they are, and spotlight some of the biggest reasons why they are usually the best choice if you’re attending the con for multiple days.

What’s a “Partner Hotel”?

These are a list of hotels in downtown Reno and near the convention center, hand-picked by the RPCC Convention Director for their high level of quality, affordability, and general proximity to the convention center. We work to provide a wide range of hotel styles and choices for just about every budget.

We have negotiated with each of these hotels to reserve a block of rooms, dedicated for RPCC attendees, at special lower room rates available only during the dates of the convention. Representatives for RPCC negotiate special rates and other arrangements with the hotels for primarily one reason: So you have the best experience possible when attending the con for multiple days.

If after reading this, you decide a partner hotel is right for you, remember that you MUST start the booking process by going to the Hotels page on the RPCC website first, located at the link below.

When you click on one of the partner hotels listed, it will take you to a unique page on the hotel’s website that provides the special negotiated room rates for the con weekend (more on that below), along with any other perks they are offering con attendees. For example, the downtown hotels are offering free shuttle service to and from the con each day, which makes staying there a great bargain! Should you have any questions, it’s best to contact the specific hotel directly – they can best assist you.

Big Discounts for Con Attendees

One of the biggest incentives to stay at a partner hotel is that you’ll get the best rate, which is lower than the public rate for those dates. Plus, many of the hotels offer special perks just for RPCC attendees, like complimentary internet access, free shuttle rides to and from the convention, and breakfast.

Easy Commutes to the Convention Center

We work hard to find and partner with hotels that offer a combination of very high-quality rooms, combined with a convenient route to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

This year we’re proud to have the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa on our partners list, which is connected to the convention center, so it couldn’t be easier.

Or, if you’re really in a mood to save some cash, you can stay at one of our partner hotels a little further out, with free shuttle service to and from the con each day.

More Fun After Hours

This one is a bit harder to explain if you haven’t been to a con before, but by staying at a partner hotel you also have a higher chance of keeping the fun going even after you leave the convention center.

One big reason is that you have a much higher chance of running into other people who — just like you — are in the city primarily to attend the con.

People who stay in partner hotels often tell us they had a better, more immersive overall experience, because they had many more opportunities to bond with fellow fans, grab a drink with friends they met at the con during the day, and/or meet new friends with shared interests.

In the Middle of the Action

We expect that there will be plenty of unique nighttime events happening that only occur once per year during con weekend. Some will be officially hosted by RPCC or our partners, but many others are independently produced.

With so many people in town for the con, many of these special events may likely happen within blocks of one our partner hotels, so by staying in one you have the best chance of being right in the middle of the action.

Rather stay in and have fun with the kiddos? Several of our partner hotels have special amenities just for families, including swimming pools, hot tubs, arcades, and recreation rooms.

Kind of a No-Brainer

 Bottom line, if you’re planning to stay overnight, partner hotels are your best bet. They are great hotels, with lower prices, convenient to the con and nighttime events, giving you more value and a better overall experience.

Partner hotels do sell out, so be sure to check out more information on our hotels page ASAP and book early to get the best properties and packages.
